MEET JESSICA
Hi, my name is Jessica, and this is my daughter Victoria.
For years I felt like I couldn’t control what was happening in my life. My mother died when I was young, and I blamed myself for not taking better care of her. Years later, when I had a daughter of my own, I realized that I had never learned to take care of myself. I had to flee from an abusive relationship, and I found myself jobless, penniless, and living in a shelter with Victoria.
Project Liberation taught me that I am enough. With the tools I learned and the friendships I made, I gained the knowledge and courage to make new choices. I landed a job I never thought possible. I enrolled in college online. I found permanent housing for me and my daughter. Life as a single mother is still challenging, but I’ve learned that I have the power to make my life what I dream it to be.
