PROJECT LIBERATION
HELPS TO TRANSFORM LIVES

2019 highlights that I’m proud to share with you include:

  • We advocated on behalf of incarcerated women at the White House and at conferences all over the country for the First Step Act. The bill was passed on April 1st and continues to help many.

  • We participated in the high-profile Dignity Campaign, in partnership with #Cut50, a national bipartisan initiative, alongside Grammy Oscar-Award- winning musician, Common.

  • We again partnered with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, which connected us with more clients poised to holistically benefit from our work.

  • We traveled abroad to Italy and India to study best practices and conduct a motivational speaking tour, “From Adversity to Empowerment.”

  • We created an expansion plan that meets women on the inside, greets them on the outside and stands by their side through all stages of criminal justice involvement.

  • We were chosen by the School of Visual Arts to participate as a collaborator in their Design for Social Impact program.

  • We were again named an Agent of Change at the Center for Social Innovation- collaborating with 250 other organizations making a positive change in the world.

Our unrelenting advocacy in 2019 will lead to unprecedented opportunity in 2020.
